Design and Investment

Designing With Budget in Mind

During the early preliminary plan phase, we provide a detailed budget estimate prepared in collaboration with one of our vetted, trusted landscape contractors. This estimate reflects realistic costs for materials, labor, and construction.

This early budget allows us to evaluate the design and ensure it aligns with your investment range. From there, we make informed decisions about what to keep, adjust, or phase for future implementation.

We often plan ahead by incorporating concealed footings, utility stub-outs, or conduit runs beneath hardscapes. This allows outdoor spaces to grow and adapt over time without disrupting completed work or requiring costly changes later.

2D & 3D Design Options

2D Landscape Design

A professionally scaled master plan showing layout, dimensions, and overall spatial organization. This option provides a clear, buildable framework for installation.

3D Landscape Design

Realistic visual renderings that allow you to fully experience your outdoor space before construction begins. This option is especially valuable for complex outdoor kitchens, pools, shade structures, and fire or water features.

Both options are rooted in architectural sensitivity and material continuity between your home and landscape.

Investment

Landscape design is a professional planning service and is priced separately from installation.

Design investment depends on property size and complexity, the level of detail required, whether 2D or 3D visualization is selected, and whether technical construction drawings are needed.

Most design projects range from $1,800 to $4,000 for 2D plans, with the majority falling near the middle of that range. Converting plans into 3D renderings typically adds $750 to $1,500, depending on project complexity.

We work best with clients who understand that thoughtful planning is the foundation of a successful installation. If you value strategic planning before construction, you’ll appreciate the depth of our process.

Typical Installation Budgets

Installation budgets vary depending on scope, materials, and features. As a general guideline:

  • Entry-level projects typically begin around $30,000
  • Most projects fall between $85,000 and $200,000
  • Large or complex transformations may reach $500,000 or more, particularly when pools, outdoor kitchens, fire features, or specialty elements are involved

Providing an anticipated investment range early helps us create a plan that aligns with your priorities and avoids surprises.
