We present the estimate for design work after seeing the site and present the contract. Once signed, we move on to the design phase.
2 | PRELIMINARY DESIGN & REVIEW
The preliminary plan outlines the major hardscape elements of the design including patios, overhead structures fire features, water features, kitchens, planting bed areas, walls, etc. We then meet to review the plan and make any modifications/changes/additions to make sure that the design is 100% perfect and in allignment with goals and budget. We present this preliminary plan with an optional 3D renderings that shows your preliminary plan in photo-realistic detail, allowing us to fine tune design and materials choices.
3 | PLAN & ESTIMATE
Your Preliminary Plan is paired with a feature-by-feature cost breakdown that grounds the design in real numbers. We have trusted long-term partnerships with local landscape contractors that privide estimates of our designs. Obtaining estimates at this early stage helps validate the plan against your budget early in the process and gives us the flexibility to fine-tune materials, scale features, or set priorities to create the best possible result within your desired investment.
It's important to note that you are not obligated to use one of our contractors to complete your installation, and you can obtain as many other bids as you would like. But if you do chose our installer, we (the designers) come with the installation and manage the installation from beginning to end. A a "win-win" for everyone.
4 | FINAL PLAN
A final plan is then created including all of the final changes have been made to the hardscape elements of the plan, plus a final planting plan. The plant material selection takes into consideration specific site exposures, preferred color palettes, as well as desired levels of maintenance. Even a low maintenance planting plan will include a combination of plants that add interest in spring, summer and fall, as well as winter interest.
5 | CONSTRUCTUCTION AND INSTALLATION
Should you decide to move ahead with installing with us, your designer then manages every detail and serves as your single point of contact throughout the entire process. This level of involvement is what sets us apart.

Is it more expensive to have the designer manage and install our project versus going directly to the contractor and having them do everythig without having the designer involved?
No, it is not more expensive to work with our designers to get a bid and project manage than it is to go directly to our contractors without us involved. The bids we provide are identical to what our contractors provide. There is no additional cost to have us manage the installation of your project if you use our contractors. Because we help in the materials ordering and project management of the project, the contractors pay us a management fee after the project is complete.
