1 | INITIAL CONSULTATION
Your vision sets the foundation. Our imagination takes it further.
We begin with a detailed conversation about your goals, style, and budget. After visiting the site, we explore ideas that unlock the full potential of your space.
Following the consultation, we provide an estimate for design work and present the design agreement. Once approved, we move into the design phase.
2 | PRELIMINARY DESIGN & REVIEW
The preliminary plan outlines the major elements of your project including patios, overhead structures, fire features, water features, outdoor kitchens, planting areas, and walls.
We meet to review the plan and refine details so everything aligns with your goals and budget.
Optional 3D renderings can be created to show the design in photo-realistic detail, allowing us to fine-tune materials and layout before moving forward.
3 | PLAN & ESTIMATE
Your preliminary plan is paired with a feature-by-feature cost breakdown that grounds the design in real numbers.
We work with trusted local contractors who provide estimates based on the design. This early pricing helps validate the plan and allows us to adjust materials or features to match your investment level.
You are never obligated to use our contractors and are welcome to obtain additional bids.
If you choose our installation team, we manage the project from beginning to end.
4 | FINAL PLAN
The final plan incorporates all approved changes to the hardscape and includes a detailed planting plan.
Plant selections consider site conditions, color preferences, and maintenance levels.
Even low-maintenance designs include plant combinations that provide interest throughout spring, summer, fall, and winter.
5 |CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION
If you move forward with installation, your designer manages every detail and serves as your single point of contact throughout construction.
This level of involvement is what sets Sundial apart.

What is the cost of the initial consultation?
It is free!
How long does the design process take?
The design timeline varies depending on project size and complexity. Most preliminary designs are completed within 2–4 weeks after the initial consultation, followed by revisions and final planning.
Can the design be adjusted to fit our budget?
Yes. The Plan & Estimate phase allows us to refine materials, scale features, and set priorities so the project aligns with your desired investment level.
Are we required to use your recommended installation team?
No. You are welcome to obtain bids from any contractor you choose. If you decide to work with our installation partners, we manage the project from beginning to end.
Our contractor’s pricing is industry average for the Denver area. While you might find prices that are lower or higher, we have carefully selected the contractors we work with for quality, reliability, timeliness, and unmatched customer service.
Is it more expensive to have Sundial manage the installation instead of working directly with a contractor?
No. Working with our designers to obtain estimates and manage your project does not increase the installation cost. The bids we provide are the same as those offered directly by our trusted contractors.
When you choose to install through our partners, we coordinate materials and oversee the project from start to finish at no additional cost to you. Our contractors compensate us for project management after completion.
What happens if changes are needed during construction?
Adjustments are a normal part of building outdoor spaces. We manage any changes and guide the best solutions while keeping the project aligned with the design.

The first step is scheduling an initial consultation. This meeting allows us to understand your goals and begin developing ideas for your space.
